SINGER-SONGWRITER
Singer-songwriter Michael Levine, based in Atlanta, Ga., combines intelligent lyrics, a unique acoustic guitar style, live percussion loops and a passion for inspiring people. Experimental influences crash into an acoustic sound paved by classic songwriters. By not relying on fitting in to one musical genre, Levine defines a style all his own that is unified and all encompassing. Mic has opened for bands such as Dave Matthews, Live, Counting Crows and Joe Walsh, and he has received radio airplay for his songs "Gravity," "Over My Head" and "Breakdown." He has also won the prestigious Eddie's Attic Open Mic Shootout (former winners include John Mayer & Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland) & his former band Cool Water won the award for Best Rock Band in his hometown Birmingham, AL.Mic often plays with guitarist & singer Matthew Smith (aka Number 99), who adds his incredible array of guitar sounds & vocals to create a lush, full sound.
